POLICE safety officers were out and about yesterday handing free personal attack alarms to women after a spate of robberies.
In just over a month, a bicycling robber has attacked 16 women in Bretton and the surrounding area.
Postcard Printing The cowardly criminal, dubbed "the ride-by robber", has snatched handbags from the women - with one terrified victim being dragged along the ground and suffering a Aviatrix Fake Handbags broken hip and collarbone.
Police are urging women not to put up a struggle and hand over the bag to the villain should he strike.
Community Safety Officer Carol Aston said: "We've had a series of robberies in and around the Bretton area, so we've been out and about talking to members of the public, particularly ladies with handbags, giving them reassurance and crime prevention advice.
"We've been handing out alarms specifically designed for handbags, where, if the bag is snatched, the alarm is activated, so you are aware and the offender will

"It's a two-fold project, the reassurance factor talking to the public, and they also feel a lot safer because they've got something to use if someone tries to take their bag."
